Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
Dr. Kapadia says it was an easy decision to become a dentist. She knew she wanted to go into healthcare since she was a child, and dentistry was a perfect fit because it not only focuses on patient-centered care but also requires a level of creativity and understanding of biology and engineering.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Dr. Kapadia earned her first dental degree in her native India, and then she completed a two-year fellowship in periodontics. This was followed by an additional three years of periodontics training at NYU. She then taught at the University of Louisville and University of Detroit Mercy, where she earned her DDS.
