Our Services

Your initial appointment will consist of a thorough exam which will include looking for any abnormalities that may have gone undetected prior to your referral to our office. A series of radiographs may also be taken. An explanation of our finding and a treatment plan will be devised and sequenced. Financial arrangements will be discussed at the first visit or a subsequent consultation.

We perform all aspects of periodontics which include, but are not necessarily limited to the following:

Scaling and root planing:

This procedure is different from periodic maintenance to keep your gums and structures that support the teeth in good health. Scaling is the removal of calculus (tartar) from the teeth. Root planing is a deeper type of cleaning which involves removing calculus that has established itself below the gums.

Non-surgical chemotherapeutic treatment:

The placement of antibacterial medicine below the gumline that can kill bacteria and arrest gum disease. The long term success of any treatment done to arrest gum disease is critically reliant upon regular maintenance and diligent homecare.

Surgical treatment including bone grafting and guided tissue regeneration:

These advanced techniques help restore the bone that has been lost to periodontal disease.

Surgical treatment to arrest periodontal disease:

In this technique, the tooth and supporting bone are restored to health, but bone and supporting tissue is not regenerated.

Surgical treatment to improve esthetics:

A gummy smile or uneven appearance to the smile can be enhanced with cosmetic periodontal surgery. The gumline can be made more even to enhance it’s appearance, and a gummy smile can be reduced or eliminated with crown lengthening. Teeth that appear too long or have exposed root can often be covered with a soft tissue graft to enhance esthetics.

Surgical placement of implants:

A dental implant is essentially a titanium root that can be used to replace single or multiple teeth. We will provide you with advanced treatment options in this field.

Nitrous Oxide or I.V. Sedation:

For those patients that would feel more comfortable with sedation, we are pleased to offer Nitrous Oxide. Nitrous Oxide is an odorless gas which makes you feel relaxed and at ease. Although you will be awake, you will not be aware of your surroundings. This technique will calm you during dental procedures without the risk of general anesthesia.

We offer a deeper level of sedation which is administered by a certified anesthesiologist. The anesthesiologist will stay throughout the procedure and until you are completely awake afterwards.

There are many other services we offer which your dentist or dental specialist may refer you to our office for.

If you have any questions about these procedures you may refer to the frequently asked questions section.
